Tools Required:Case opening tool, T6 Torx Driver, Precision Philips Screwdriver Start:Cingular 8525 with required tools Remove 4 screws with T6 Torx Driver as shown above Carefully insert the case opening tool into the gap between the case and the bottom cover to release plastic retention details, allowing the rear cover to be removed.[Note: Antistatic Procedures must be followed when handling all electronics] Separate the rear cover from the Unit. Lift ribbon cable to unplug from connector By lifting the end of the cable. Using T6 Torx driver remove single screw in black plastic housing. After removing single screw,carefully lift the motherboard assembly noting that there is Silver tape ribbon cable plugged into the back side of the motherboard that is held in place with silver colored tape. Carefully peel the tape back to expose the connector.
Carefully peel the silver tape back to expose the connector and cable that must be unplugged. Note: Antistatic Procedures must be followed when handling all electronics After the ribbon cable has been unplugged, the motherboard may be separated from this assembly.
These 4 screws pass Through the black Plastic part and Screw into here Using the Precision Philips screwdriver, remove 4 silver colored screws allowing the separation of the keyboard and LCD assemblies Using the Philips Screwdriver remove 4 silver screws from back of LCD Housing. Separate the rear cover the LCD assembly by placing the case opening tool in the gap between the rear cover and the front bezel to release the plastic retention details.
Separate the rear cover from the front bezel.Note: Antistatic Procedures must be followed when handling all electronics Peel the Kapton tape back that is covering the LCD ribbon cable connector. Lift edge of latch Bar to rotate to Vertical “release”position Rotate black ribbon cable latching bar to the vertical position to release the ribbon cable. Ribbon cable Ribbon Cable Connector Pull Ribbon Cable from connector after Latch has been released. Remove two Philips screws From button board ribbon Cable connector to allow This cable to be unplugged. Please note that these 2 screws are very short in comparison to all other screws Remove 2 short black screws.Note: Antistatic Procedures must be followed when handling all electronics Unplug the button board ribbon cable by lifting the end of the cable. Remove single screw holding top control panel to front bezel. Remove single screw holding narrow flex cable to button board. Carefully lift the button board from the front bezel.Carefully lift the LCD assembly from the plastic snap detail in the front bezel. Assembly is the reverse of this process
