Stuff you will need:
1).  Needlenose pliers

2). Torx, flathead, and philips screwdrivers

3).  Ziplock bags for screws & small parts

1.     Remove the plastic case foot and the warranty sticker.

2.     Slide the top cover down 1-2 inches

3.     Lift up and remove the cover.

4.     Remove the 7 screws.

5.     Push in the plastic clip on the back of the ps3 and...

6.     Remove the top half of the case

7.     At this point you should be looking at the dvd drive and the power supply. We're going to remove the power supply first. Pull the cable connector out of the motherboard (use your pliers) and remove the 3 screws.

8.     Remove three more screws on the other side of the power supply.

9.     Use your pliers to disconnect this cable.

10.   Remove the screws and disconnect the cable. Remove the bluetooth board.

11.   The dvd drive is next . First, disconnect the cable from the motherboard.

12.   Open the clasp and remove the wide ribbon cable.

13.   Remove the screws.

14.   Remove the four screws and disconnect the cable. Remove the small green board and the bracket.

15.   Remove the hard drive cover.

16.   Lift the motherboard and the back cover out of the bottom half of the ps3 case.

17.   This is the motherboard and cooling system.

18.   To get the back cover off you have to release 5 plastic clips. Two on one side...

19.   And three on the other.

20.   The back cover removed.

21.   Remove the 3 screws. .

22.   Disconnect the cable from the motherboard.

23.   Remove the fan.

24.   Remove the four screws and the two heatsink brackets.

25.   Remove the bottom motherboard shield.

26.   Remove the heatsink assembly. Don't touch the thermal compound on the heatsink.

27.   Disconnect the battery from the motherboard.

28.   Remove the screw, slide the hard drive to the left, and pull it out.

29.   Remove twre screws.

30.   Remove the top motherboard shield.

31.   Done.
