Logic Board Reair 1.Before opening your iPod, ensure that the hold switch is in the locked position.

2.Opening the iPod can be challenging. Don't get discouraged if it takes you a few tries before the iPod is opened.
3.Insert a plastic iPod opening tool in the seam between the white plastic front and metal back of the iPod. Once you've inserted the tool, run it along the seam to free the five tabs holding the iPod together.

4.Continue to run the opening tool along the side of the case until all five tabs have been released.

5.Work around the corner of the iPod and release the two tabs holding the iPod together near the dock connector.

6.Free the five tabs holding the iPod together on the other side. You may be able to free the tabs by gently wiggling the front panel of the iPod.

7.Continue to run the opening tool along the side of the case until all five tabs have been released.

8.The iPod casing is now open, but don't separate the two halves just yet. There is still a orange ribbon cable connecting the headphone jack to the logic board.

9.Use a plastic tool or your fingernails to carefully disconnect the orange headphone jack cable. Be sure to only pull up on the connector at the end of the cable and not the cable itself.

10.Lift up the hard drive with one hand and carefully disconnect the hard drive ribbon from the logic board.
11.Lift the hard drive out of the iPod.

12.Carefully disconnect the white battery connector from the logic board. Be sure to pull only on the connector itself and not on the cables.

13.Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the orange touch wheel cable from the logic board.

14.Remove the 6 black T6 Torx screws securing the logic board to the front panel.

15.Lift the logic board out of the iPod.
Display Repair
1.Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the orange display ribbon from the front panel.

2.Lift the display panel out of the iPod.
Front Panel Repair
1.Lift the battery out of the iPod.

2.Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the orange display ribbon from the front panel.

3.Front panel remains
4.You have successfully removed the Front Panel. To reassemble your iPod, simply follow the directions in reverse order.
