IPod (4 Generation or Photo) Disassembly Instructions
1.  Use pry tool to wedge between front and back housings. To create gap, wrap hand around unit with side between thumb and forefinger.  Push up and out on back with fingers while pushing down and in on front with thumb. Once tool is in, run tool around edge until housings pop apart. PULL APART CAREFULLY AS AUDIO JACK CONNECTOR WILL STILL BE ATTACHED.
2.  Using flathead precision screwdriver*, unplug audio jack connector.  This must be done carefully so as not to pull cable apart from plug.  (a) Pull LIGHTLY up on cable to create gap where plug can be pried out
of surround.  (b) Cable will remain with back housing when detached.
3.  Unplug battery cable at base.
4.  Unplug hard drive from top cable connection.  If necessary, pry connector out lightly with precision screwdriver*.  Be careful to pry on black inside part of connector so as not to detach pin portion of connector from orange cable.
5.  Remove 6 screws on motherboard using T6 Torx tool provided.  One screw will be hidden beneath black tape covering hard drive connection.
6.  Flip motherboard up to left.  Be careful not to disrupt screen and button cables.
7.  Battery will be stuck tightly with adhesive to metal backing.  Pry battery up using black pry tool provided if necessary.
