Note the iPod Video 5th has a different logic board and this will NOT work with Ipod Video 5.5th, the 820-1763-A and 820-1975-A boards. The 820-1763-A is the 5th generation logic board suitable for the 30gb and 60gb 5th gereration iPod's Video's and the 820-1975-A board is the 5.5th generation logic board which is suitable for the 30gb and the 80gb 5.5th generation iPod Video's. The 820-1763-A board could only work with IPOD VIDEO 5th 30GB 60GB. replacing the 820-1763-A board .
The 820-1763-A logic board
The 820-1975-A board CAN be used to replace the older 820-1763-A board BUT will requre formatting the iPod's hard drive.if your current board is a 820-1975-A you can NOT replace it with the older 820-1763-A board.
The 820-1975-A logic boardIf you can NOT have your hard drive formatted then you MUST tell me the exact model number of your board. This number is easy to find -- if you hold the logic board so that the clickwheel side is facing you, Also, on the logic board if the click wheel side is face down and you're looking at it so the curved part of the board is on top, then immediately under that curved area it will say "Apple" then it will have the model number. To avoid any delay in processing, please make sure to specify this model number in the "notes" section, and make sure to hit "save" after you've entered the note.
